Politically speaking

For some reason, I want to blog for the hottest political issue in the Philippines right now, the ZTE Broadband deal for the National Broadband Network (NBN) project of the government. Currently, senate hearings are ongoing (man, do they know anything better to do than senate hearings and/or inquiries?).

Just a few days before this was posted, COMELEC Commisioner Benjamin Abalos resigns from his post. I really don't know his reason(s) for doing so but I guess it's just one of 2 things: the hearings are just too much to bear or it's a part of the government's "Plan B."

Let's start off with this: why would the government want to pay almost $330-M to a foreign broadband company if we already have some of the fastest and biggest broadband networks locally? I really don't have to type it in but it's KICK-BACK.

The chosen representatives of the people of the government of the Republic of the Philippines (PGRP) are FG Mike Arroyo and (former) Comelec Commisioner Benjamin Abalos. Knowing that the project has been drawn from bad paint and covered with another better painting, they expected that smoke will come out somewhere. They started the fire anyway.

The seemingly heroic appearance of Jose De Venecia III (JDV3) may be part of a real rift among the PGRP ranks. Why? The speaker's son's company was kicked away from the kick-back. Which MOTU-Congress won't be angry at his BD if he was snubbed from a "good" deal?

To somehow extinguish the fire, BD must find a way to tame her TL/MOTU-Congress. What she did? Turn the whole PGRP against the "least important" member yet creates a big political effect when kicked out, former Comelec Commissioner Benjamin Abalos. He doesn't play much of a role as a member but when removed, the PGRP can make an excuse for delaying the baranggay elections. Right?

And so they did. Some Neri-man confesses that poor FCCBA tried to bribe him. Knowing the eminent abandonment of him by his comrades, he chooses to "Back-off!"

The End.

*Everything written are merely theory. Believing them won't get you anywhere. I promise.
