Hope is one of the greatest gifts man has received from God. Unfortunately, it also brings pain especially when one hopes on the most unlikely turn of events. It becomes more painful when your brain starts to see that the ideal (one hoped for) event is impossible.
So, as to (hopefully) help people undergoing such difficulty I have devised a few ways to kill 'hope'.
They are the ff.:
1. Get real. Usually, it is the imagination that creates 'hope.' Avoiding to imagine the 'ideal' event will most likely decrease hoping.
2. Consider all odds. It is also the case that one disregards certain obstacles to the fulfillment of the 'ideal' event.
3. Keep self away from those that may remind of the 'ideal' event.
4. Avoid thinking about those that are involved in the 'ideal' event. Keep them out of the mind.
5. For these to be most effective, all must be done at the same time since 'hope', if not killed in one blow, will only come back.

(Seriously, sinabi niya yan.)
